Poor Experience with Home2Decor Interior Designers (Part 1)
Home is where we belong, a place where we attach our souls and dream of our future. It is not just a property but an emotion, and no one has a right to ruin that emotion for self interest.
- To expose the unfair trade practices we experienced with Home2Decor - a small interior designing firm, owned by Mr. Santosh Rana in Dombivali (Thane), a suburb of Mumbai.
- To share our experiences in general while you chose an architect/interior designer as you build/renovate your house and work-space.
Let me quickly introduce myself. I am 26 year old resident of Dombivali and work in a MNC as a consultant. Its been more than 15 years that I have been staying here with my family. My father, is also serving a MNC at a senior management level. In 2017, we purchased a 3 BHK apartment in MIDC area of Dombivali and were looking for a interior designer who can design and construct the interiors of the newly bought apartment. A good starting point is always a quick google search. We came across this firm - Home2Decor. It's office was exactly opposite to our apartment and the reviews appeared very positive. We thought of calling on the owner Mr. Santosh Rana, which later turned out to be a biggest mistake of our lives.
Mr. Santosh claims himself to be a Talent and Project Specialist, but he is an ace thug. We met him first in October of 2017 and asked him to visit our site. He claims himself to be highly professional, but he reached 60 minutes late, then the agreed time. I must agree, he had an understanding of interiors a he was able to answer most of our queries on the spot. He was accompanied by his employee Mayur. After completing his survey, we went to his office, explained our expectation and discussed on the quotes. His quotes were on a very high end. To justify that he shared some of his past work in a pdf. to my email. We were left stunned.
After, the bad experience with him (which I will continue in this blog..), I did some research and found that the image is a property of M/S Gaurav Architects, Mumbai.
Such a cheater! How could you believe these folks? You know what, we did... and that's when we asked him to show some sample work. He only showed us two nearby... but when we asked for more visits.. he replied "I cannot disturb my clients , for more business!!" . Honestly, we were running out of time and had approached several other designers as well. But none of them looked promising as Mr. Rana (because no one shared fake images to us like he did) and we gave him the contract.
He initially committed that the work will be done in max 5 months because he has a team of more than 50 people... which is what he also boasts on his website... 70 employees..huh!
He must declare his ITR to public! Also, see above he mentions, 494 happy clients... but on a different page, this number triples...
I hope these experts, know their is no difference between a 'Client' and a 'Customer' when it comes to delivery of Professional Services. I will share more such incidents with Home2Decor that would help you remain alert with such thugs, who are spoiling the reputation of an entire industry.

ReplyDeleteHome2Decor is a completely USELESS interior decorator. They don’t have basic ethics of working, they
don’t treat you well and also don’t treat their own workers also well. Many times, his workers tried to hit him for not paying them. Santosh Rana and Anand, both will just keep doing fake
promises and never ever complete the work. Santosh will just take money from you and run away
and doesn’t show his face again unless you call him 100000 times and scold him badly.
He will never keep you updated on anything and never complete the work on time given. He doesn’t
even have the basic ethics of calling back rather he will switch off his phone and give you mental torture.
He started my work in Feb 2021 and it’s been almost a year now he has not yet completed the work.
He has taken all the money and now ran away without completing the work. He kept on promising some dates every time he came for the meeting (of course after 100000 calls) and never completed work by that date.
There is nothing like interior he does, he will just do furniture and that too by taking your ideas only.
He doesn’t have his own ideas. I don’t think he is even educated enough to do the interior work. He can’t even read emails and doesn’t even ask about how he replies to your messages, he doesn’t even know which tense to use. He will just talk and do nothing. He will make sure to do half work in every area so that you keep paying money considering he will finish the work after you pay. Also, he will offer you a discount for the delay and then ask his other useless colleague Anand to ask for that money.
These guys are so shameless that without completing work they will just ask for money. Now,
Santosh has run away with our money and has not finished the work.
Also, he keeps claiming that he has an office at Bhandup but his own colleague told us that there is no office.
These guys don’t even have any working standards. I told them to make the house child-proof as I have
a small baby but he never did that and due to that my baby got hurt multiple times, there were
scratches on his body due to the sharp edges these useless fellow has created. He was not even sensitive about it, we had to follow up with him 10000000 times to get those edges soft.
We even got some of the work done by local guys by paying them, even though this useless fellow has taken money for that.
He never keeps your house clean while working, all bathrooms, sync the whole house was dirty like a roadside pothole. We got it cleaned with special service multiple times so that we
can stay in the house.
You better ask some local furniture guys to do the work for your house but never go for this cheat
THELA of Santosh Rana. Can't call it an organization as they don’t even know the basics of it and their standards are even much lower than a THELA. Even calling it THELA is an insult to THELA as THELA's are much much better compared to this sh*t.
Even after this, you want to go for this useless fellow work then make sure you get everything in writing on stamp paper along with his Aadhar card and address so that you can catch him, else he will RUN AWAY with your money and never come back.
Portfolios on his site and another listings are just 3D's nothing actually done. Santosh Rana is big lier.
